Some abusive people can obtain respect (twisted respect) by dishing out fear. That's the only connection.
Normally fear of a person or persons is not respect, but simply fear itself (bodily harm.) Respect is earned and it's when someone treats you like a human being with kindness, love and affection along with trust and honor that you respect that person.
The difference between arrogance and confidence is a person with confidence will also understand others maybe stronger, and that each person is a complete package of strengths and weaknesses so will remain humble in both. An arrogant person will often neglect to acknowledge weakness in light of playing up the strengths. He/she claims to no it all, and are not impressed when other people talk about the knowlegde and opinons, an arrogant person will think he/she does not need to listen to the views of others as it is not as important as he/she is

Is twisted respect the same as fear is it different? If so, what differences are there?
Why do you think a confident person is more aware of others than an arrogant person?
Why do you think an arrogant person avoids acknowledging their weaknesses?
