Week 8
In this week's lecture we were taught on body language and interviewing skills. The main form of communication is body language and the way we present our selves has an effect on our perceiving audience. Body language is at the highest peak of communicating, then it is down to voice and words. So the way we come across is very important. There are several steps of how to have the almost perfect body language, if this is done correctly then relating effectively to others is also done.Eye contact is very important one of the most important facial expressions, if there is none or not enough eye contact with the audience then the information that you are trying to give out is not flowing effectively and therefore the presentation doesn't go well as anticipated. Practising with your group can enhance your body language, and interviewing skills, as you feel more comfortable with your group and if you are able to present good body language skills this will be a positive reflection when it comes to the presentation.

week 7
In today's lesson i learned about role play and video production. role plays are how people act out and perform certain skills and behaviours in a situation. The whole point of performing role plays is it allows you to practise new skills in a controlled environment, and has the opportunity to allow feedback from fellow students and tutors.when performing role plays sometimes there is an opportunity to be videoed and to have live feedback of how you were perceived. As mentioned previously practise makes perfect, and i am more confident as i know now how to present my presentation and with the help of acquiring new skills it Will benefit me in the long run. I did not have a group but if i did i would of definately practise doing roles plays with my group, as this improves the groups confidence within the team and when it comes to the presentation skills, certain people would of improved within their presentation skills.

week 6
In this week's session i learned about verbal presentation. This information consisted of elements that are needed to present to a high standard. This is essential to practise in front of an audience as it will help to boost ur confidence and make sure the timings and other issues are running smoothly. The presentor also needs to be smooth on commuincation skills as he/she needs to be portray their arguement efficently and effectively, this is vital when engaging with the audience and so the audience will be interested. When we say pratice makes perfect, it wouldnt be perfect but it would be to the best of the person's abilty. Doing their best in their eyes is something that is perfect and are happy with it. Also if someone is also aware of that person's weaknesses and have shown a vast improvement in themselves their opinons would be also said as perfect meaning its to the best of your capability.

week 5
In this lecture we are learning about Critical thinking. This was about useful skills and skills that are required within and outside academia, what are thinking skills, the stages of it, gaining, understanding and applying knowlegde. I learned many things such as how these skills can help with decsion making, and the skills are essential for anyone in mangement position. Acquring these skills will definately help within the working world and the word data covers a wide range of statistics, diagrams formulaes etc. I can say that i have started to think like a critical thinker acquring these skills now will benefit me in the near future.
week 4
In this session we are attending the science museam. Here me and my group will take notes on the computer section and choosing what event will be suitable for us to start our research on. We will be taking into consideration which event is more appealing and also make a video containing information. We have still not decided which event we are going to go for, and we are still researching on which event will appeal to us. Due to me not having a group i did not visit the museam so i cannot really comment any further.
week 3
In this session we were taught about information gathering, the different ways to gather information, the purposes of this, the stages involved, and how we are going to go about this at the museum and what preminlary research has to be done, before, during and after the visit. The difference between respect and fear is
Some abusive people can obtain respect (twisted respect) by dishing out fear. That's the only connection.
Normally fear of a person or persons is not respect, but simply fear itself (bodily harm.) Respect is earned and it's when someone treats you like a human being with kindness, love and affection along with trust and honor that you respect that person.
The difference between arrogance and confidence is a person with confidence will also understand others maybe stronger, and that each person is a complete package of strengths and weaknesses so will remain humble in both. An arrogant person will often neglect to acknowledge weakness in light of playing up the strengths. He/she claims to no it all, and are not impressed when other people talk about the knowlegde and opinons, an arrogant person will think he/she does not need to listen to the views of others as it is not as important as he/she is

week 2
In this lecture the session consisted of information about working in groups, the main elements that are invovled, group dynamics, establishing a good and working relationships with the group, leading and developing the group. It is essential for groups to communicate well with each other, as this will produce better results. Each member of the group will bring something new and exciting to the group and therefore will help others learn about new techniques and how they can work better as a group.Having confidence in the work and in members of the group helps commuincation flow easily and therefore be a successful working team. This is what i have learnt how it is very important that every member of the group feels invovled, commuincation is a vital part to the end results, and trying to have minimal disagreements. Argruments are bound to occur as peoples oponions/ personalties will clash. This is where the team leader needs to ensure that indivdual opinons are not to a point where it starts to create conflicts within the team. Each team member needs to understand their part in taking responsibilties for their roles and the team leader should be always at hand and to motivate its team.
week 1
This is the very 1st lecture i attended, in this lecture we were getting started, on various issues within this module. During this session we were browsing the open universtity browsing many things on this website. After i was introduced to this, we then moved on to careers talk. This was a powerpoint presentation and this was about the overview of the IT industry, what graduates do after they have their degree, what kind of employablity skills they obtain, and a careers service where this offers support and help for students. This is session we also looked further into employability skills, and what kind of skills and capbalities are required for the working world today. I learned that there are many skills that need to be acquired for outside work, and as we are given the knowlegde, we need to be able to apply them and making sure we are successful within the working world.
